Job Description Summary The LaFetra College of Education at the
University of La Verne invites applications for a 50 percent non
tenure track faculty position in the Leadership Programs to begin
in the Fall 2026 academic term. Teaching responsibilities may
include courses within the MEd in Educational Leadership, Doctor of
Education in Organizational Leadership, and or Doctor of Education
in Educational Leadership programs. This position carries a
two-course annual teaching load and focuses on supporting doctoral
students in the development of high quality scholarly and
practitioner writing. The faculty member will serve primarily as a
doctoral writing coach, providing individualized and small group
support to students throughout the Dissertation in Practice
process. In addition, the faculty member will contribute to
dissertation oversight by collaborating with dissertation chairs
and committee members, reviewing student drafts for clarity and
coherence, and supporting timely student progress toward
completion. The role includes helping to design and implement
writing supports such as workshops, templates, and feedback
structures that strengthen student outcomes across the program. We
seek a collaborative and student centered professional who
demonstrates excellence in graduate level teaching, writing
mentorship, and applied scholarly practice. The core competencies
of the Leadership Programs include leadership, change, and
contribution across personal, team, and organizational contexts.
Our programs aim to develop scholarly practitioners who lead
meaningful change and contribute to their organizations and
communities. Minimum Qualifications Earned doctorate PhD or EdD in
leadership, educational leadership, or a closely related field from
a regionally accredited institution. Experience teaching graduate
or postgraduate courses. Demonstrated experience supporting
graduate or doctoral student writing, including feedback on
research or applied projects. Knowledge of qualitative,
quantitative, or mixed method research approaches relevant to
Dissertation in Practice work. Strong understanding of academic
writing, organization of research, and development of practitioner
scholarship. Proficiency with online and hybrid instructional
technologies and adult learning strategies. Effective interpersonal
and communication skills, especially in providing constructive and
supportive feedback. Evidence of commitment to equity, inclusion,
and social justice in education. Preferred Qualifications
Experience serving in a dissertation support, writing coach, or
committee member role in a doctoral program. Experience supporting
Dissertation in Practice or capstone style projects. Experience
developing writing resources, workshops, or scaffolded supports for
graduate students. Experience teaching or leading in PK to 12,
higher education, or community organizations. Record of scholarship
or professional presentations related to leadership, practitioner
research, or writing development.
