Overview:JOB SUMMARYResponsible for operating, inspecting, repairing, maintaining of the power plant, auxiliary equipment, emergency generators/switchgear, cogeneration, sterilizers, and related process equipment. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Experience: Three to five years in plant operation and equipment repair working within a commercial facility or institution preferred. Experience working on engines, generators, condensers, pumps, compressors, and boilers required. Knowledge and Skills: Basic knowledge of pump function, maintemance and repair, brazing, electrical troubleshooting, boiler operation, and blueprint reading. Basic computer skills necessary. License/Certifications: If hired after January 1, 2013 a 500 HP Los Angeles Steam License is required within one year of hire. For those hired prior to January 1, 2013 a 500 HP Los Angeles Steam License is required. EPA 608 Certification preferred. Equipment: Boilers, cogeneration engines, chillers, absorbers, cooling towers, sterilizers, pumps and computers. Employee provides basic personal hand tools. Physical Requirements: Must be able to perform the essential physical requirements of the job. PAY RANGE $30.71 - $46.07
