Responsibilities Ensure the proper, timely and accurate performance
of Daily, Weekly, Monthly and Annual accounting and reporting
functions and procedures. Ensure the proper, timely and accurate
compliance with regulatory requirements. Effectively manage and
motivate accounting department associates to ensure achievement of
overall financial, recording and reporting results. Provide a daily
summary of key operating results and status to the Controller and
CFO. Ensure performance of daily accounting functions and
activities at corporate and at the retail operations across the
United States. Publish the proper and accurate Financial Statements
for each business entity within five (5) days of the end of each
accounting period. Gain and maintain excellent knowledge of
competition and general industry trends. Actively manage the
financial statement and review and critique performance in a timely
fashion. Teach the process to all members of the management team.
Drive the financial planning of the company by analyzing its
performance and risks Retain constant awareness of the company---s
financial position and act to prevent problems Set up and oversee
the company---s finance IT system Set targets for and supervise all
accounting and finance personnel (management accountants, internal
auditors etc.) Oversee all audit and internal control operations
Develop the corporate fundraising strategy and manage relationships
with partners and investors Prepare timely and detailed reports on
financial performance on a quarterly and annual basis Conduct
analysis to make forecasts and report to upper executives Ensure
adherence to financial laws and guidelines D. Qualifications
Minimum of 15 years related experience in accounting. At least 10
years of experience in managing or supervising an accounting
department. A Bachelor---s degree in Accounting or Finance required
Master---s degree in business administration (MBA) or an
accreditation such as certified public accountant (CPA) or
certified management accountant (CMA) preferred Comprehensive
knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), as
well as Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) and Government
Accounting Standards Board (GASB) pronouncements and
interpretations. Considerable knowledge of budget preparation and
administration and of data processing and its application to
accounting and management information systems and to the
development of statistical, cost and evaluation data and
procedures. Considerable knowledge of federal, state and local
payroll tax laws. Considerable knowledge of principles and
practices of computer user applications, including input/output
processing and basic systems concepts. Considerable knowledge of
organizational planning techniques, including developing goals and
objectives, staffing and work standards. Knowledge of the
principles and practices of budgetary administration and control.
Ability to develop, implement, administer and monitor
administrative policies and procedures. Ability to devise, analyze
and implement accounting procedures in a systems environment in
conformance with GAAP. Ability to evaluate program effectiveness.
Ability to communicate both orally and in writing. Ability to
supervise and evaluate the work of subordinates. Ability to
establish and maintain effective working relationships both
internally and externally. Ability to work under pressure. Ability
to develop and maintain effective financial control mechanisms.
Ability to prepare, justify, and administer a budget. Ability to
manage multiple complex and interactive multi-step projects.
Ability to coordinate long term and short term planning
methodologies in a rapidly changing environment. Ability to
collect, analyze and summarize data and to prepare clear and
