You'll be responsible for welcoming patients, scheduling appointments and work closely with our healthcare staff to take patient histories, collect test samples, and help with examinations. Responsibilities:

Document the patient's vital signs including respiration rate, blood pressure, respiration rate, and pulse and write down the information in their chart
Greet patients, handle telephone calls, schedule appointments, and answer inquiries regarding treatment or prescription refills to make sure each patient has a great experience in our office
Fill out the appropriate insurance forms and document patient appointments, listing all symptoms, test results, diagnoses, treatment instructions, and prescriptions on the patient records
Provide support to healthcare staff during examination by handing the correct supplies and medical instruments to the physician, position the patient, and assisting with other tasks as needed
Get examination rooms ready for patients by ensuring the rooms are well-stocked and at a comfortable temperature and all equipment is sterilized


Qualifications:

Graduated from high school or received GED
Ability use a computer to complete administrative tasks
Has Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or other certifying agency
Candidates must have successfully completed an accredited medical assisting program a supervised externship in a healthcare setting
1 year of prior experience as in a medical assisting role performing administrative duties or similar position in a healthcare work environment
