Founded in 1995 as a joint venture between St. Mary Medical Center in Long Beach and ProHealth Partners, we are a medical management company that partners up with physicians in the Los Angeles and Orange County area. We provide services to assist physicians with their day-to-day operations so that they can spend more time with their patients. All aspects of our management services were designed by physicians for physicians. We pride ourselves in connecting local doctors with individuals who are looking to grow their experience within front-office and back-office medical assistant work. Because we work with so many specialties, we have a variety of positions that are available on a full-time, part-time, and on-call basis. We currently provide physician practice management services for over 300 physicians and continue to grow with over 45 offices in the greater Long Beach area, which includes 10 cities.

As a Medical Assistant (MA), you optimize the efficiency of the practice and ensure that patients feel welcomed and attended to. You greet them warmly, check them in, and lead them to their rooms. After verifying insurance information and eligibility, you collect any copays. You manage the necessary documents such as referrals and authorizations. By obtaining their histories, vital signs, and other measurements as well as drawing blood for tests, you get their appointments started in an efficient manner.

You also get to assist with examinations, procedures, and treatments such as administering injections. Your presence is always calming and reassuring to the patients. With attention to detail, you ensure that everything is properly documented in the electronic medical records (EMR) system. You are passionate about maintaining patient confidentiality and ensuring compliance with regulations. You are grateful for this hands-on experience that will help you grow in your career. And, you feel good about ensuring that each and every visit is a positive experience for patients!

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Phone etiquette
  • Ability to navigate electronic medical record (EMR) and electronic health record (EHR) systems

Some experience in a clinic, medical office, or other health care facility is preferred but multiple factors will be taken into consideration. Bilingual skills in Spanish are strongly preferred. Are you flexible and able to provide excellent customer service while juggling incoming phone calls and physical patients coming in? Do you have strong communication skills, both written and verbal? Can you work well in a team setting? Are you organized and able to effectively prioritize multiple tasks? Can you follow detailed directions? If so, you might just be perfect for this administrative health care position!
