JOB SUMMARYThe Pre Service Representative performs all tasks related to pre-registration and registration of inpatients and outpatients in an efficient, accurate and professional manner to ensure that the patient, physician and hospital needs are met. -MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS -Education: -High school diploma or GED preferred -Experience: -One year previous work related experience in a healthcare or general office environment. Knowledge of medical terminology and previous medical billing, registration, radiology scheduling and collection experience preferred. -Knowledge and Skills: -Attention to detail, excellent verbal and written communication skills with an ability to communicate effectively and tactfully with staff, patients/guarantors, insurance companies, physicians and all others. Ability to follow directions as outlined and comprehends complex issues. Strong computer skills to include typing a minimum of 35 wpm. Ability to work independently and exercise independent judgment at times of need. Bilingual preferred. -Equipment: -Use of computers, with the ability to utlize a variety of software programs as needed. Also ten key, copy machine, fax machine and credit card device. -Physical Requirements: -Must be able to perform the essential physical requirements of the job.
